Laura is a Master’s level Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Adams State University, providing trauma-informed, multiculturally competent, Bilingual (English and Spanish) therapeutic services to children/adolescents and adults. She focuses on relationships, trauma, immigrant and multicultural experiences, grief, and life transitions. Laura is committed to providing client-centered approaches, creating a safe environment to work collaboratively with clients to support them on their journey of processing, healing, and growing.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Laura has a passion for working with diverse populations. She believes all people have the power to heal, learn, grow, and improve the quality of their life. As a previous Middle School Educator, she understands the need and importance of connection, compassion, and understanding. Laura provides a safe, validating space for children, adolescents, and adults to feel, process, and develop skills to help them navigate the complexities of life. She empowers her clients to engage in self-exploration, develop self-love and compassion, and confront the parts of themselves that are holding them back in order to uncover their authentic self. Approaching clients holistically and collaboratively, Laura uses creative and personalized approaches to meet clients where they are at on their journey, and helps clients achieve their vision for themselves.
