Alicia is especially drawn to trauma-informed care, Polyvagal Theory, and somatic-based interventions, and she also draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and strengths-based, person-in-environment approaches. She values psychoeducation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while viewing CBT as most effective once clients have developed greater awareness of their emotions, nervous system responses, and internal experiences.
